Moments

Image
Christy noel likes Graham's food. Graham doesn't mind hers. Instead of keep trying to force them to eat from their own bowl, I've resorted to just mixing their food and let it be.  Sometimes it's not worth the fight. lol And plus you get these moments on camera and they are priceless. 💓💓

Christy Noel the ever happy girl

Nothing gets her down. She's perfect combination of hyper and calm. She is an Alabama dog so we always worry about potty transitions when it snows.  Yea, it didn't phase her. Jumped right in the snow and dove right in. Laid in it, dug in it, having a blast.  She loves walks and she's ever the curious sniffing dog. Always got her nose in something.  She definitely loves her toys. After weaning from her pups, she can finally be her puppy self again. She loves to chew, loves her chew toys and bully sticks. We have found couple of Kami's things chewed up, but nobody ever told her any different. And who can expect a toddler to put her stuff away.  She knows how to "sit" and "down". She's stubborn, BUT she knows it. lol She knows "no" (whether she chooses to listen at that moment or not) and we're working on "stay".  For the past week she's not had any accidents. We haven't had to put her diaper on all week. We give wate...

Something went wrong

So usually I check their spay site to see if the wound is healing well. It was, but there was something about that last stitch. Come to find out, it had broken off one side and the end of the wound was slightly open.  I was able to remove the stitch so it didn't cause an infection and put a belly band around her belly so she didn't bother it and it's healed nicely.  But we weren't in the clear. Few nights ago she would nap and we would find her laying in a puddle. After one big puddle we called the vet.  Her urine came back negative, we were between a bladder infection or hormone incontinence after surgery. Guess it may be too soon to confirm the hormone stuff. So we wait a couple weeks to see if the hormones resettle in her body and/or she may need a little help with hormones to help.  It's weird, but we notice she stays dry throughout the night and when she's crated during the day. The only times she leaks is early evening anywhere from 5 - 8pm.  We pray our g...

I think she likes us

She is just the sweetest want to cuddle-bug ever. She loves to give kisses and nudge for attention. She is always warm (perfect for these cold winter nights).  She's definitely a bigger dog than I'm used to but thank goodness we have a big enough bed for her to nuzzle up next to you.

The friendship

Image
Graham is always looking for a friend and this just made me and him so happy that Christy Noel started playing so soon being introduced to our home. It must be the puppies she just weaned and having that nature of having a small dog nuisance. lol

Getting acquainted

Later that same evening she was quite happy with the baby and the baby slowly but surely approved of her just the same. After first feeding her with our dog around and me sitting around and my hand in and out of her bowl. She didn't wince, growl, or look concerned. She just stopped until I was done with my interference and then continued eating.  This video was taken an hour later when my baby wanted to make sure the doggies ate their food.

Meeting Christy Noel

Image
When I was leaving work to go pick up Christy Noel from the vet after her spay surgery, I had no idea what kind of dog I was looking for. Her picture wasn't even loaded on the site yet.  I showed up and told the vet tech her name and stood.  When Christy Noel walked out, she was just the sweetest thing. Timid, mild, curious and ready to leave.  She was hesitant to jump in my car, so I had to lift her into it. It was a 45 minute ride home and by the last 15 minutes she finally laid down and felt comfortable.
